2016 - 2017

Looking back on 2016, the birth of my Son Leo Immauel, our third child, remains as the most signigficant event - despite wonderful music experiences and many other impressive (in good and bad ways) events and encounters. The birth of a child and the first months of growing, of the...

Finally: Spring!

Looking back over the last months I had a focus on recording music and working on sound concepts. It was an inspiring time with radio concerts in Munich, Hamburg, Loccum and several studio recordings, one very soon to be released: Eva Kruse´s second CD as a leader on Nils Landgren´s...

I put this as a track on my website, from a recent live recording. This is a free improvisation with pianist Tord Gustavsen as a postlude in a Jazz mass in the Loccum Monastery in September 2015.

Sometimes I feel challenged as a musician what to say. Somehow the recent...

Mehr Musik aus Kirchen

Der Herbst präsentiert sich voller Musik - wie schön.

REVIEW: "This is a remarkable CD, highly recommended!"

This disc, titled Absolutely!, may be seen/heard as a counterpart to the Dragon CD (reviewed elsewhere) by the Alloy Sax Quartet, but I enjoyed it much, much more. In the notes, Steinmetz indicates his merging of “jazz and classical traditions" (emphasis mine) but never says how much of this...
